- A YouTube video inspired a group of Pocahontas Junior High students to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. This month, the Pocahontas Junior High Student Council is putting on a "Socktober" drive where they collect socks for the homeless. "I think it'll shape our character as we grow up and show that we're willing to help and be there for the community," Guthrie said. At the end of the month, the socks will be donated to the Children's Shelter in Walnut Ridge and the Salvation Army in Jonesboro.
